The Discovery Club is going to Effigy Mounds National Historic Site, where Native American burial mounds in the shapes of birds and bears have existed from the 1400s. This Sunday, November 12th trip will go from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. So bring yourself and a friend to our Thursday morning meeting in B-249 at 7:15 a.m. to get more information and permission slips.

Please help us congratulate the following music students on being selected for the All State Music Festival in November. Alexis Doremus, Jackson Kates and Emily Tigges were selected from the band and Samuel Day and Madalyn Ethier were both selected from the Orchestra. Congratulations to all on your hard work!

The men's cross country team qualified for the State Cross Country Meet by finishing third out of nine teams at the district meet at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf on Thursday. Individual state qualifiers for the Rams include Jalen Hildebrand who finished 6th, Will Whalen who finished 10, Isaiah Schaetzel who finished 14th, and Evan Wille who finished 15th. Also running for the Rams were Matthew Johnson, Ben Cook, and Connor Kilgore. The Rams will be competing next Saturday at the State Meet in Fort Dodge, so if you see any of these young men, be sure to wish them luck

DUBUQUE SENIOR GIRLS' CROSS-COUNTRY


For the first time since 1980, the Senior Girls' Cross-Country Team are district champions! The Rams won the Pleasant Valley district in dominant fashion, outpacing runner-up Hempstead by 17 points. In winning their district, the Rams qualify for the State Cross-Country Championships in Ft. Dodge this weekend. The Rams were led by district champion Mia Rampton, who finished an impressive 34 seconds ahead of her competition. Mia is Senior's first district champion since 1999. Ashley Donovan was 5th overall in a fantastic race, earning individual state qualifier status. The senior-freshman combo of Mackenzie Gaherty in 6th and Izzy Gorton in 7th also qualified individually for the state meet. Freshman Lillian Schmidt was 12th for the Rams, also qualifying individually for the state meet. Junior Olivia Kruse ran a great race and nabbed the final individual state qualifier spot in 15th place. Senior Ava Frye finished a strong 19th overall.

Fantastic Job, Ladies! You make your coaches and teammates very proud!!!
