Discovery Club:  Do you like caving?  We are going to the Maquoketa Caves on Sunday, October 7th  from noon to 4.  Contact Ms. Pfohl in B220 or Ms. Koch in A217 for permission forms and details.  We meet on Thursday mornings in B229 at 7:15.   Come and join us paddling and caving.

College Application Campaign:

Who:  All Seniors!

What: The counseling department is promoting a College Application Campaign for all seniors to get applied to college, get help with scholarships, and with filling out FAFSA, We will have FREE FOOD, door prizes, giveaways, and local colleges will be here to help!  If you are already applied to college, no worries, stop by and tell us where you have applied to make yourself eligible for the door prizes.  Sign –up in the counseling office or stop in on October 5th

What to Bring:  Social Security number and a credit card to pay for applications.  


Juniors:  This a reminder to sign up in the Business Office for the PSAT – Be sure to bring the $16.00 sign-up fee.

Attention - if you are interested in diesel mechanics the deadline to sign up for the explorer post at Truck Country has been extended to October 5th.  This includes a top gum competition.  Stop in Counseling Office for more info. 

The Conservation and Wildlife Explorer post has extended registration until this Wednesday.

ACTIVITIES

STUDENTS – are you interested in going out for a WINTER SPORT?  If so, get signed up today in the Activities Office.  You will need to make sure you have all the required paperwork on file.

Men’s and Women’s Bowling, Men’s Swimming, and Women’s Basketball start on November 5th and Men’s Basketball and Wrestling start on November 12th.  Don’t wait to get signed up!  Go to the Activities Office to learn more!

Congratulations to the following 2018 Homecoming Parade float winners! 

In Third place, the Science Department, in Second place the Cheer team and the winners of a donut party and 1st place is…..Industrial Tech!

Spanish Club has a short kick off meeting Thursday, September 25th right after school in E39.  Come find out about Spanish Club events for this year, and how you can help plan for fun club events and trips.  See Senora Ruiz for details.

The water was too high for canoeing last weekend, so the Discovery Club is going to try for this Sunday.  We will be leaving from the Nora lot at 10:00a.m. and will return around 4:00.

The Girls' Cross-Country team, ranked 3rd in class 4A, were dominant in defending their Jim Boughton Invitational Title.  TH Athlete of the Week Claire Edmondson cruised to the individual title, and Macho Lily Schmidt was close behind in 2nd.  Lauren Miller and Izzy Gorton also raced well, finishing 8th and 9th. 

The JV Rams narrowly missed the team title at the Anamosa Raider Invite on Saturday, finishing one point shy of 1st.  Individually, the Rams were led by champion Lucy Tompkins-Garoutte and runner-up Elise Hallstoos.    Impressive Running, Ladies!

Upper Room would like to invite everyone to come pray and learn about God from the Bible in B135 Tuesday mornings at 7:00a.m.

Are you interested in Acting, Singing, Dancing, Improv, or Film?  Join the award winning Dubuque Senior Speech Team.  We will have our introductory meeting on Wednesday September 26th in Room A209.  Come be a part of great team.  If you have any questions see Mr. Ernzen in B237 or Mr. Dean in A209.  Hope to see you there!
