The men's cross country team competed in the second annual Jim Boughton Invitational at a very wet and muddy Dubuque Soccer Complex last Thursday. In the Frosh/Soph race, the Rams finished third of eight teams, led by the top fifteen finishes of Ben Cook who finished fourth with a time of 18:36, Jonathan Schultz sixth in 19:03, Evan Willie ninth in 19:19, and Jacob Sindt who finished 12th, completing the sloppy 5k course in 19 minutes and 27 seconds.

The junior varsity finished 2nd and were led by Wes Brimeyer who won the race in a time of 18:46. Also finishing in the top twenty for the Rams were Simon Kosel who finished fifth in 19:02, Zach Hess 13th in 19:23, Greyson Kincaid 15th in 19:24, and Tatum Hallstoss 20th in 19:49.

In Varsity race, the Rams had four runners finishing in the top twenty on their way to a third place team finish. Scoring for the varsity were Jalen Hildebrand who finished 3rd in a time of 16:37, Isaiah Schaetzel 9th in 17:29, Dalton Zenner 11th in 17:35, and Will Whalen 20th in 18:10. Also competing on the varsity were Nathan Vail, Jack Fisher, and Nicholas Vail.

The Rams will next compete in the City Meet this coming Thursday at the (hopefully dryer) Soccer Complex.

Quarterback Tommy Casey was able to connect with Trevor Sippel, Carter Elliott, and Tristan Jellison, for touchdowns through the air.

The defense was led with strong play by Carter Konrardy, Ricky McCauley, and Jon Flannigan and

Andrew McClanahan was able to pull in an interception for the Rams at the end of the game.

Come support the sophomores and varsity tonight as they take on Clinton High School for our Homecoming game!
