October ninth through the fourteenth is homecoming week! Throughout the week we will be having dress-up days to celebrate homecoming. Monday, October 9th, is "Day off of Work," so be sure to wear your pajamas to school! Tuesday, October 10th, is "Tourist Day," so dress up like a tourist on vacation. Wednesday, October 11th, is "Clash Day," so wear your mismatched clothing. Thursday, October 12th, is class distinction day. Seniors wear red, juniors wear blue, sophomores wear gray, freshmen wear white, and staff wear orange. Finally, Friday, October 13th, is Spirit Day! Wear your best red and blue OR your fancy new homecoming t-shirt to show off your school spirit! For all of the dress up days, hats and masks are not allowed.
In addition to dress up days during the week, homecoming week also means activities before and after school to celebrate. Monday, October 9th, be sure to stop by the cafeteria between 7:00-7:30 AM to get a free donut from Donut Boy and pick up your homecoming t-shirt! That night, Open Mic Night will be hosted in the cafeteria where you can come watch fellow rams perform, drink coffee from Molly's Silver Screen Canteen, and enjoy baked goods. This event will take place from 6:30-8:00, and the first drink from Molly's, is free; sign up to perform in the guidance office, main office, StuCo zone in the cafeteria, or contact a Stuco rep. Tuesday, October 10th, is Trivia night in the cafeteria from 6:30-8:00. Come join students to work in teams and compete for and win top prize! Finally, Friday, October 13th, is the homecoming football game. The sophomore game starts at 5:00, and varsity begins at 7:15. Happy Homecoming and go Rams!
Spanish Club reminders: Do not forget to sign up for the Spanish Trip to Chicago by this Friday. If you're going on the Vesperman Farm's field trip, sign up by this Thursday. Butter Braid fundraiser for Spanish Club has started. Get a flier in E39, it ends Novmber 1st.
Coding Club will meet TONIGHT at 6pm in the library. Please see Mrs. Goranson in A321 if you have questions.
Homecoming tickets are now on sale before and after school OR during your lunch period! Tickets can be purchased in the business office and are $10 for a Senior student ticket. If you are bringing a guest from another school, you can purchase a Guest ticket for $20, which covers both you and your guest. Please be prepared.... you must have your current Student ID to purchase tickets and tickets CAN NOT be purchased using a debit or credit card.
Forms for the next session of Driver's Ed are now available in the Business Office. Registration will begin on October 9th.
Are you ready to Battle? Anyone interested in joining the local and state Battle of the Books competitions should come to an informational meeting TOMORROW Thursday Oct. 5th. Meetings will be held in the library at 7:15 and during A and D support times.
Seniors - Your SENIOR PHOTOS are due to the Yearbook staff by November 24, 2017. If you submit your photo after that date, you must pay a late charge for your photo to be included. Any photos received after February 1st will not be included. Submit your photos as a jpeg to dubuquesenior@gmail.com with your name in the subject line.
