Congratulations to all of the DSHS
musicians on their
performances at the Iowa High School Music Association State Solo/Ensemble
Contest this past Saturday. Many of the
DSHS musicians were scored at the highest level of achievement and awarded a
divisional I rating. Three entries were
recognized at the highest level of achievement winning the "Best of
Center" award including Alexis Doremus, Oboe/Clarinet Duet - Alexis and
Jackson Kates, and Samuel Day. Dubuque Senior High School was the only school
to receive these honors.
In addition, for the first time in IHSMA
history, Judge Wayne Lu gave honorable mention to the following soloists
including Paige Kizer, Emily Tigges, Justin Nowack, Jackson Kates, Jamal
Cheaham, and Neil Butler.
Congratulations to all of our DSHS musicians on a fantastic job!
Attention Sophomores!!! There will be a Sophomore Class meeting on
Wednesday, April 18th during A & D study. Sophomores should sign up in
FlexiSCHED and attend the meeting during THEIR Support Time. Please bring a
pen!!! See you then.
Want to earn
money by doing math? Consider participating in the Trig Star math contest on

Prom tickets are on sale NOW!!
Tickets can be purchased beginning today in the business office. Senior student Only tickets are $15 when
purchased in advance or $20 at the door.
Guest tickets must be purchased before 3pm this Wednesday, April 18th
and are $30.
ACTIVITIES
Any senior
playing for the Senior High baseball
team this summer can pick up a Scott Althoff Scholarship application from
Mr. Fleming inn room A-211. This is a $500 scholarship in honor of former Ram
Scott Alhtoff who was killed in a hit and run accident. Applications are due
back to Mr. Fleming by April 24.
Are you
interested in going out for Baseball or Softball this summer? If so, make sure you get signed up in the
Activities Office and attend the following Player/Parent Meetings (even if you
are in a spring sport):
Baseball
– Tuesday, April 17th, 6:00 pm in the cafeteria
Softball – Monday, April 30th , 6:30 pm in the cafeteria
COUNSELORS OFFICE
SENIORS! Check your school issued email!! There is a request to let us know your after graduation plans. This will be used to advertise within our school and celebrate your accomplishments!! Please have that done this week!!
The School Counseling Office will be hosting another Future Ready Talk
this Thursday during A or D study time. This week's topic will be Career
Discovery: How to find the Best Option for you! Please schedule yourself
through FlexiSched.
This session is best suited for Juniors, but
Sophomores are welcome!

18 to be a forklift driver. Wages are

responsible, willing to learn, and are ambitious. They will train you how to assemble building
