STUDENT NEWS

Renaissance Alert! We are now in the last quarter of the year, so please stop by the AP office to pick up your Renaissance Card with awesome sponsor’s like our new one Chik Fil A, where you get a free sandwich once a quarter. Also, if you haven’t gotten your Renaissance t-shirt yet stop while supplies last!

Join Board Game Club this Friday as we meet in room B234 after school. We will be playing ‘King of Tokyo’. Bring along a friend to room B234 2:30pm on Friday. Hope to see you there.

The GSA will meet in room E45 on Thursday, April 5th at 7:05a.m.  Please join us!!

Students who requested a PE exemption for 2018-2019.  If you have not filled out an Exemption Request form, please pick one up in the main office or Counseling office.  These need to be signed by a parent and returned to the main office.  If the form isn't returned to the main office by Friday, April 13th you will be added to a Wellness class.

Hey Rams!  Typically when you hear "marathon" you think of 26.2 miles...or a really long event...but that's not the case for National Honor Society's MINI Dance Marathon!  This Friday, we will pack as much as possible into just 3 HOURS - so plan on joining us in the cafeteria from 6-9 pm for dancing, giant Jenga, giant Twister, Minute-to-Win-It competitions and more!  Prizes will be awarded to competition winners and there will be plenty of pizza and snacks for all!  The cost is $5 to get in and T-shirts will be sold during the event for $5.   


All proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network, so come have a great time for a great cause.


STUCO ZONE

Hey Rams! Are you guys going to the Ram Fam assembly? If so you should sign up for Tug o War in the Guidance Office until April 9th! There can be up to 6 people on a team and you must have at least one boy and one girl on your team. Don’t have a team? You can also sign up as an individual to be placed on a team with the final match being played against the staff team! Hope to see you there! Sign up in Guidance today.

ACTIVITIES

Are you interested in going out for Baseball or Softball this summer?  If so, make sure you get signed up in the Activities Office and attend the following Player/Parent Meetings (even if you are in a spring sport):

 Baseball – Tuesday, April 17th, 6:00 pm in the cafeteria

Softball – Monday, April 30th , 6:30 pm in the cafeteria

COUNSELORS OFFICE

THE SCHOOL COUNSELING OFFICE HAS MOVED !!   Your School Counselors are now located in D152!  

Juniors! Welcome back! The School Counseling Office has a lot going on these next couple months of school, including our move to D152!!

But here is some important events to be aware of starting this week!!

ACT: We will continue with the Free ACT Prep Session after school today with Jason Derby.  These sessions start at 2:30, end at 3:30pm and will be held in A219 (Mrs. Anderson's Room).  

Thursday, Jason will cover the SCIENCE section.  Please be sure to sign in while there. Bring your ACT prep book if you have been to a previous session. 

NEW!! The School Counseling Office will be hosting a new series of sessions called Future Ready! These mini sessions will cover various topics that will help YOU get ready for whatever is you will decide to do after high school. 

Our very first session is Future Ready: Academic Preparation.  This session will cover optimum prep for moving on after high school, quick info on entrance exams and if they are necessary for you, and little tips on what you could be doing now to help prepare to be career/college ready!  This first session will happen today, April 5th during A and or D study time in D162.  We only have 20 mins and the session will be jammed pack with information so be prompt!

Come whenever your study time is but we ask that you use FlexiSched to confirm that you will be attending.

Expect to see more sessions happening on Thursdays until the end of our school year!!

JOBS

Do you like to work outside in the construction field?  Would you like "on the job training" while earning money?  If so, Evergreen Construction Co is seeking individuals 16 or older who are responsible, willing to learn, and are ambitious.  They will train you how to assemble building materials used for construction. No prior experience necessary - just the right attitude and work ethic.  If this sounds like something, you would like to do - stop in the counseling office - in D152 for more information.

Stonehill Nursing is seeking part time workers to fill dietary aide position and CNA positions.  Must be 16.  If you need more info - stop into the School Counseling office now in Rm D152.

Dubuque Golf and Country Club is looking for part time workers In the dining area.  Must be 16-18.   Pay is $8.50 an hour.
