Last Wednesday, National Honor Society members
hosted their annual Man Pageant competition in which Shane Arnold, Ben Cook,
Jack Fisher, Nick Kubitz, Sam Noel, Connor Sindt, Jacob Sindt, Jared Weber, and
Evan Wille showcased their style, humor, talent, and quick thinking skills -
all for the benefit of the Dubuque Regional Humane Society! In the end, Nick Kubitz was crowned the
winner and the group raised $700.00 for animal care at the shelter! Thank you to all who attended!
Juniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher -
please be sure to visit Mrs. Fischer if you were not able to attend last week's
meeting about the NHS selection process.
Candidate information forms need to be returned by Friday either to Mrs.
Fischer in B234 or Mrs. Ruden in the AP Office.
Congratulations goes out to all of the DSHS Jazz
Band students on a very strong performance this past weekend at the NEIBA Jazz
Festival. Their scores put them in the
top echelon of bands for the day and well into a divisional I rating.
Outstanding soloists were Ted Kruse on Trumpet, Adam Kramer and Matt Lemire on
Tenor Sax. Congratulations to all on a
job well done!
NICC is now accepting registration for
driver's education sessions that begin in March and June. Registration
must be done through NICC. Please stop by the Business Office or the
Counseling Center for information on how to register with NICC.

Senior’s Got Talent is coming up Thursday March 14th! Tickets will be $3 for students and $5 for
adults. The Art Show will begin at 6:00
p.m. outside of the auditorium and the Talent Show will be at 7:00 p.m. with
doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Art can be submitted and brought into the STUCO room
during 5th period up until March 11th.

all Junior Boys: Application s are now available for this
years Boys State at Camp Dodge-Johnston, Iowa June 9th -14th,
2019.
Iowa American Legion Hawkeye
Boys State is a weeklong “hands-On” experience in the operation of the
democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the
relationship of one to the other in shaping Iowa government. Through the Boys State objective of “learning
by doing”, young men will learn more about city, county and state government in
one week during summer break.
You have to be able to attend
the entire week in June. If this
interests you, please stop by the School Counseling Office to pick up an
application. The completed application
is Due TODAY Wednesday March 6th, by 2:30 pm. No late application s will be accepted.

Students of this year’s Graduating class.
This
year’s Senior High Awards Assembly will be on Monday May 20th, 2019
at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior High Auditorium. We have a variety of
scholarships (Memorial, Community/School, and Specific College Sponsored) that
are available for our Senior High graduating students in the class of
2019.
Applications
were emailed to your parents last week. If you did not see that email,
please stop by The School Counseling Office to have an application sent to your
email address. There will be a sign up sheet that you will need to put
your name and email address. Mrs. Lawrence will then send you the
electronic application to complete.
You
will need to fill out our application form electronically and electronically
submit the completed PDF application to Mrs. Lawrence at llawrence@dbqschools.org by Wednesday March 20th,
2019 at 2:30 p.m. No late applications will be accepted.

The Dubuque Bulldogs
Lacrosse club is hosting a free clinic this Sunday-March 10 from 2-4 at the
University of Dubuque in the Veterans Indoor practice facility. Students interested in learning more about
the Dubuque club are welcome to attend, learn about the game, and participate
in 3 on 3 games.

looking for a dietary assistant – 12-18 hours weekly. 4-7pm. Must be 16 – no experience needed. $12 per hour. Great hours and place to work!
White Front Seed and Feed is looking for a hard working person to fill a
part time position. No night and 15 to
20 hours a week. Must be 16yrs to
