Congratulations
goes out to all of the DSHS Jazz Band students on a very strong performance
this past weekend at the NEIBA Jazz Festival.
Their scores put them in the top echelon of bands for the day and well
into a divisional I rating. Outstanding soloists were Ted Kruse on Trumpet,
Adam Kramer and Matt Lemire on Tenor Sax.
Congratulations to all on a job well done!
There
will be a Men’s Soccer meeting on Friday, March 8th at 2:50pm in the
Cafeteria. Come meet the new coaches and
find out more about our men’s soccer program!
There
will be a Women’s Tennis meeting on Monday, March 18th @ 6:00pm in the STUCO
Room.
The Dubuque Bulldogs Lacrosse club is hosting a
free clinic this Sunday-March 10 from 2-4 at the University of Dubuque in the
Veterans Indoor practice facility.
Students interested in learning more about the Dubuque club are welcome
to attend, learn about the game, and participate in 3 on 3 games.
If you have not
ordered a yearbook, now is the time to do so!
Ordering closes at 11:59pm on March 31, 2019. Books are $50 and can be purchased online
through the student payment portal or by going directly to the business office
during school hours. The business office
can accept cash or check. If you have
any questions, see Mrs. Jackman in E45.
STATE BASKETBALL INFORMATION
Fan Bus Information
There will be at least two fan buses heading to the State Tournament on Wednesday, March 6th ONLY. There will not be any buses on Thursday or Friday.
DBQ Senior Students - $26 (this includes a ticket to the game).
Adult/Non-Students - $42 (this includes a ticket to the game).
Permission Forms are available in the DBQ Senior Activities Office.
**Priority for the buses is to get DBQ Senior Students to the game. IF DBQ Senior students need to overflow to the Adult/Non-Student bus, there is a possibility that an Adult/Non-Student would be removed from the trip with a full refund.
Individual Game Tickets
Individual game tickets for the Wednesday, March 6th game ONLY, are available at the DBQ Senior Activities Office until Tuesday, March 5th at 3:30 pm. Tickets are $10 each.

NICC is now accepting registration for driver's education sessions that begin in March and June. Registration must be done through NICC. Please stop by the Business Office or the Counseling Center for information on how to register with NICC.
STUCO ZONE
If you are interested in performing in the Talent Show, auditions will be held on March 5th and 6th. The sign up link is on the Student council twitter page @RamsSTUCO and will close this Friday!
Senior’s Got Talent is coming up Thursday March 14th! Tickets will be $3 for students and $5 for adults. The Art Show will begin at 6:00 p.m. outside of the auditorium and the Talent Show will be at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Art can be submitted and brought into the STUCO room during 5th period up until March 11th.
ACTIVITIES
Students – are you going out for a Spring Sport? If so, get signed up now in the Activities Office to make sure you have all of the required paperwork that is needed. Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Men’s soccer starts on March 11th. Women’s Soccer starts on March 18th. Get signed up TODAY!!
Do you want to be a cheerleader next year? If so, tryouts are next month! There will be a MANDORTORY Parent/Student Meeting on Monday, March 4th at 6:00p.m. in Nora Gym. You will find out all information at this meeting, so make sure you attend if you want to CHEER on your Rams next year!!

Attention all Junior Boys:
Application s are now available for this years Boys State at Camp Dodge-Johnston, Iowa June 9th -14th, 2019.
Iowa American Legion Hawkeye Boys State is a week long “hands-On” experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Iowa government. Through the Boys State objective of “learning by doing”, young men will learn more about city, county and state government in one week during summer break.
You have to be able to attend the entire week in June. If this interests you, please stop by the School Counseling Office to pick up an application. The completed application is Due Tomorrow Wednesday March 6th, by 2:30 pm. No late application s will be accepted. If you have questions, please see Ms. Lawrence in the School Counseling Office.

Students of this year’s Graduating class.
This year’s Senior High Awards Assembly will be on Monday May 20th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior High Auditorium. We have a variety of scholarships (Memorial, Community/School, and Specific College Sponsored) that are available for our Senior High graduating students in the class of 2019.
Applications were emailed to your parents last week. If you did not see that email, please stop by The School Counseling Office to have an application sent to your email address. There will be a sign up sheet that you will need to put your name and email address. Mrs. Lawrence will then send you the electronic application to complete.
You will need to fill out our application form electronically and electronically submit the completed PDF application to Mrs. Lawrence at llawrence@dbqschools.org by Wednesday March 20th, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. No late applications will be accepted.
