There is a
mandatory Model UN meeting
this Friday, February 9th. Fundraising orders and money are due and final
counts for the spring conference will be made at this meeting. If you plan to
participate in the spring conference, you MUST come to the meeting or make
arrangements with Ms. Weiland in B129.
On Friday the Ram’s bowling
team took on their crosstown rivals Hempstead for the City Title. The Varsity Men, led by Logan Oberfoell with
a 464, took it all the way into the last game to win 3053 to 3015 to take the
City Title this year. A special shout
out to Jarred Lattner for his 267. The Varsity
Women, led by Alexis Scheffert with a 393, also led the ladies to the last game
to win the Title 2467 to 2411. The JV
men, led by Jacob Bakey with a 403, fought hard but come up short. The JV Women remain undefeated, led by Lauren
Kass with a 330, won convincingly 2144 to 2038.
The Rams have two more meets before heading to districts on the 13th. Way to go Rams!!
Congratulations to the
Dubuque Senior Speech team on qualifying 21 entries for the All-State Large
Group Festival at Iowa State University in Ames on February 17th. The
team also earned the E. Wayne Cooley Sweepstakes Trophy for being the team with
the most nominations in the state making them State Champions for 2018.

Upper Room would like to invite all students to come
find how valuable they really are. A guest speaker will be coming
February 22nd to talk about each person’s value. Come after school on
February 22nd at 2:30 to B141 (Mr. Hansen’s Room).

The yellow recycling bins in the classrooms are just for paper, plastic, and
cardboard. The RAM recyclers are finding a lot of other garbage in the
bins like tissues, food, paper towels, and gum. Please be respective and
throw these items in the garbage.

Assembly will be on Monday May 14th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior
High Auditorium. We have a variety of scholarships (Memorial,
Community/School, and Specific College Sponsored) that are available for our
Senior High graduating students.
