Announcements September 1

Picture Retakes will take place in the School Library on September 11th, from 7:00a.m-12:45p.m. for students who have NOT had their picture taken on Registration day. From 7:35a.m.-12:45p.m students will be called by grade level to go to the Library. In order to have your picture retaken, students MUST bring back their picture packet and turn them in at that time.

COLOR GUARD: Are you looking for something fun to do? The senior color guard has 5 positions open, and they want you! Want to give it a try? Join them on September 24th for their all day rehearsal beginning at 9 am in Nora Gym, give it a week trial run before you commit to such a great activity. If interested please contact Heather in A113.

Unscripted, Dubuque Senior's Improv Comedy Troupe
will hold open workshops Tuesday Sept 5th, Thursday Sept 7th, and Tuesday Sept 12th from 5:00-6:30p.m. in Rm A209 with Auditions to be held after school on Thursday Sept 14th. It is important to attend as many of the workshops as possible to learn the games we will be using for auditions. Any questions see Mr. Ernzen in B237. Come be a part of the fun!

9th graders--
You will attend the Respect Retreat one full day next week, Wednesday September 6th or Thursday September 7th  based on who your English teacher is. Please check with your English teacher if you are not sure which day you will be attending. Please wear comfortable clothing and your school ID to the retreat. You will need to report to the cafeteria by 7:35AM on your retreat day. Please let your English teacher or Mrs. Brokus know if you have any questions.

Are you looking for adventure and excitement? Come join the Discovery Club! We have a canoe trip planned for Saturday, September 16 on the Maquoketa River in Monticello. This is a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the last days of summer, and meet new friends. The Discovery Club meets on Thursday mornings in B-249. We will hand out permission slips and discuss other activities for the year. Talk to Ms. Pfohl in B-249 or Ms. Koch in A-226 if you cannot attend.

Board Game Club will be having its first meeting this Friday, September 1st. So if you like, to play games with good company, come to room B-234 on Friday at 2:30pm. The meeting will run until 4:15pm. Feel free to bring your friends. For more information, see Mr. Hickerson or Mr. Gates.

Are you interested in current events? Do you like discussing topics with small groups of your peers? Do you like learning about the world and different cultures? If you said yes to any of these questions then plan to check out Model United Nations at the informational Friday, September 1 @ 8:15 am in B139. We will share descriptions of the club and events we plan to attend this school year. If you are interested but unable to attend, see Ms. Weiland in B139.

Attention, students! The Debate Team will be hosting our informational meetings on September 13 at 7:15am and September 14 at 2:30pm in B133, the Social Studies LRC. Upper Room would like to invite all students to come serve, pray and learn about Jesus. Upper Room is meeting in the locker room/training room of Dalzell Field, on the Hempstead locker room side of the building. Upper Room meets at 7:00 on Tuesday mornings.
