STUDENT NEWS

Do you like to write just for fun? Do you get hand cramps from writing for hours? Do you yearn for a place where none of your work is graded and you can still get helpful feedback? We have a club for you! Dubuque Senior has recently resurfaced the long forgotten Writing club this 2017 school year! “The Scribes” is a club that welcomes all novice writers, no matter the skill level, to come write, share and give helpful feedback to fellow “Scribes”. The first meeting will be held Wednesday January 25th at 2:30 in A-213. Sign-up sheets are in the majority of English classrooms. Any questions? Please talk to Mrs. Williams in A-213.

Please Join the Dubuque Senior Color Guard Sunday January 22nd at 3pm for their Spring Show on Top of Pride Rock! Admission is only $5. What a great way to support the color guard as they showcase all of their hard work from throughout the year!

For the safety and security of our building, STAFF and STUDENTS MUST wear their ID’s at ALL times. Students, you will get one “FREEBIE” temporary ID sticker. The second time you will have to meet with your AP and will be issued a lunch detention. Again, Students you are allowed ONE temporary ID sticker, the second time you meet with your AP and are issued a lunch detention. Thanks for your cooperation!

That is the theme of our PINK OUT we will be having at the men’s and women’s basketball games against Hempstead on February 10th. Pink Out T-Shirt Order Forms are NOW available in the Activities Office and are due no later than January 27th. Stop in today to help support this great cause!

The World Language Club is going ice skating Sunday January 22nd from 3-5 at Mystique Ice Rink. The cost is $6 to get in and $3 to rent skates. Hope you can join us!

The Echo yearbook is looking for Senior/Freshman sibling combinations for a spread in the yearbook. Please come down to room E45 to have your photo taken together. Dress alike, do a silly pose, or something else that shows who you are. Additionally, please also either bring in or email a photo of you and your sibling as young children to dubuquesenior@gmail.com. This photo will be published with your current photo, so be sure it is one you don't mind being widely seen.

Siblings must have been photographed by February 3rd to be included.

Seniors
- Your senior photos are due to the Echo yearbook staff no later than TODAY January 20th. If we have not received a photo from you by that date, you run a serious risk of not having it included in the yearbook. Photos should be sent to dubuquesenior@gmail.com.

ACTIVITIES

SOFTBALL PLAYERS: Are you interested in Softball Camps? Clarke University and UW Platteville are both holding camps in mid-February. Please stop in the Activities Office to pick up camp and sign-up information.

If you are going out for a Spring Sport (Track & Field, Soccer, Tennis, or Girls Golf), please stop in the Activities Office to get signed up. Track & Field begins on February 13th with the other sports staring in mid-March. EVEN if you are currently doing a winter sport, please stop in to the Activities Office to get yourself signed up today!

Are you going out for a Spring Sport? Are you planning on going somewhere for Spring Break?

If you are, make SURE you are aware of when your spring sport begins. Some sports start during our Spring Break this year and if you are going out of town, this may impact your spot on a team. Please make sure to look at the RAMS REMINDER display case outside of the Activities Office for more information. All information will be posted on the Senior High website as well.
