JV VOLLEBALL: Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team on their win last night against Iowa City High, oooo kill ‘em! Come support the Volleyball teams as they play next Tuesday against cross town rival Hempstead!
NHS : There will be a NHS meeting on Tuesday, October 8th during A/D study times in the Auditorium. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Fischer before Tuesday.
VOLLEYBALL “PINK OUT”; Nikki Hilby, a teacher at Roosevelt whom many of the students will know, will speak about her experience fighting breast cancer. Please encourage all of your fans to wear pink to support her and all the Tri-State Breast Cancer Survivors. Tuesday, October 8th 7:00p.m Varsity Volleyball match against Dubuque Hempstead at Hempstead.
All survivors get in free; they just have to identify themselves to our ticket takers.
All proceeds from this event are donated to Images and Information and the Tri-State Breast Cancer Survivors.
SPANISH CLUB; Pasta fundraising packets are in! Stop by Sra. Prine’s room, E-43, and pick up your packet!
FOOTBALL “PINK OUT”: Senior and Hempstead will be "Tackling Cancer Together" at the Football Game on Friday, October 11th. If you did not order a Pink Out Cancer T-shirt at the football game last Friday, you still have time! Orders will be taken in the Activities Office until Thursday, October 3rd - NO EXCEPTIONS! Shirts are $10 and payment MUST be turned in at the time of ordering. Proceeds from shirt sales will benefit local Cancer Organizations - Let's TACKLE CANCER TOGETHER!!
HOMECOMING GUEST FORMS: Homecoming is October 5th and students bringing a guest that does NOT attend Senior High School will need to pick up a Homecoming Guest form in the AP office. The forms need to be returned to the AP office by October 3rd.

Homecoming Parade:
Friday, October 4th at 1:30PM, Starts at Jackson Park
Homecoming Dance:
Saturday, October 5th from 8PM-11PM. Theme is "Drops of Jupiter."
Booster Club will be in school during lunch time to sell apparel the week of Homecoming on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Please add that we have "new spirit socks and other new apparel items for purchase".
The Gay/Straight Alliance meets every Thursday in room A117 after school at 2:20. GSA is a group of students here at Senior who promote diversity. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend a meeting. We currently are working on homecoming ideas. Hope to see many there. Any questions see Mrs. Wiederholt in room A117.
Wendy’s Community Day: The first Wednesday of each month at Wendy's is Dubuque Senior Gay/Straight Alliance night. From the hours of 5-7 Wendy's will donate 10% of all sales. This is a fantastic way to support Senior, the Gay/Straight Alliance and our Ram students. Stop in grab a bite to eat and say hello. The next one is Oct. 2nd.
Discovery Club: The Discovery Club travels to Maquoketa Caves State Park on Sunday, October 6 from noon to 4 p.m. Visit the quarter-mile long walk-through cave, crawl through the smaller caves, and squeeze your way through the Why cave. Come and join us on Thursdays in B-249 at 7:15 to get all the details. This is just in time for a spook-tacular October!
Picture Retakes: Thursday, Oct 3rd in the auditorium at the beginning of the day. Please report there if you need your picture retaken. Remember to bring your old pictures with you. If you are ordering for the first time remember to bring your money and an order envelope which can be picked up in the main office. Pictures will begin at 7am.
VOLUNTEERS: The search is on to find our top youth volunteer! If you are selected, you could receive $1000, a medallion and a trip to Washington D.C., next May! If you feel you have made a positive difference through a volunteer activity during the past year, please stop in the School Counseling and Guidance Office THIS WEEK to see Mrs. Busch for further details on applying for this opportunity!
