Youth Core Leadership: Will meet today Oct 8th 2nd period in Guidance.
Guidance office is looking for a student who does not have a 1st hour to run passes. If interested, please stop in Guidance.
Marching Band and Color Guard: "Congratulations to all members of the Ram Marching Band and Color Guard on their performances over the weekend. They won the third place trophy at the Little Hawk Marching Invitational on Saturday with a combined point total of 83.1 out of 100. Good luck to all marching band and color guard members for the State Marching Band Competition this coming Saturday."
Science Bowl: The Dubuque Senior Science Bowl team will hold its first meeting of the year on Thursday, October 10 in Ms. G’s room, B241, from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Come try out your skills at science jeopardy questions on topics ranging from Space to Biology. The competition is held at Iowa State in January, and we will be developing our skills and talents for that event. Please visit with Ms. G for details.
Career Exploration: Have you ever thought about exploring the world of Fashion Design, Engineering, Architecture, Law Enforcement, Cosmetology, Auto Mechanic, or the Skilled Trades? All of these Exploring Programs begin in October so now is your chance! Stop in guidance office for more information.
This week the Volleyball Program is selling t-shirts for $10 to raise money for the American Cancer Society. They will be available Monday - Thursday at lunch and in the activities office. Please help us as we support ALL types of cancer. The shirts will be worn on Tuesday, October 15th at the last Home Game of the season when we host Wahlert, Senior Night & American Cancer Society night. So put this date on your calendar now to come support the RAMS!
VOLLEYBALL “PINK OUT”: A teacher at Roosevelt whom many of the students will know will speak about her experience fighting breast cancer. Please encourage all of your fans to wear pink to support her and all the Tri-State Breast Cancer Survivors. Tuesday, October 8th 7:00p.m Varsity Volleyball match against Dubuque Hempstead at Hempstead.
All survivors get in free; they just have to identify themselves to our ticket takers.
All proceeds from this event are donated to Images and Information and the Tri-State Breast Cancer Survivors.
SPANISH CLUB; Pasta fundraising packets are in! Stop by Sra. Prine’s room, E-43, and pick up your packet!
FOOTBALL “PINK OUT”: Senior and Hempstead will be "Tackling Cancer Together" at the Football Game on Friday, October 11th.
The Gay/Straight Alliance: meets every Thursday in room A117 after school at 2:20. GSA is a group of students here at Senior who promote diversity. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend a meeting. Hope to see you there. Any questions see Mrs. Wiederholt in room A117.
Wendy’s Community Day: The first Wednesday of each month at Wendy’s is Dubuque Senior Gay/Straight Alliance night. From the hours of 5 – 7 the Wendy’s on 16th and Kerper will donate 10% of all sales. This is a fantastic way to support Senior, the Gay/Straight Alliance and our Ram students. Stop in, grab a bite to eat and say hello. The next one is November 6th. Thank you in advance.
