BAND: The Iowa Bandmasters Association has announced that the Dubuque Senior High School Concert Band and the Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School Concert Band have been selected as 2 of their 8 Honor Bands to perform during the 85th Annual IBA Conference in Des Moines in May. Each year, the IBA selects 8 Honor Bands in the following classes: one High School band in each class: 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A; two Junior High/Middle School bands, one Elementary band and one High School and/or Junior High Jazz Band. It is unique that both a high school band and a middle school band are selected from the same school district. To be considered, directors must submit an application and a recent recording of their band. Hundreds of Iowa school band recordings were submitted for the opportunity to perform as an honor band.
