GIRLS SOCCER: There will be a short organizational meeting for any girl interested in playing soccer for Senior this spring. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 1st at 2:25 p.m. in room A217.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD: Men's track and field 2011 sign-up will be Wednesday February 9th at 2:45 p.m. in the Library. Snow date is Thursday, Feb. 10th at 2:45 p.m. in the Library. Bring friends - A chance to compete every week, No cut from the team, 11 state qualifiers 2010. Look for the fliers in the halls.
NHS: National Honor Society meeting TODAY during A and D study time in the auditorium.
HUNGER BANQUET: Do you want to help fight against world hunger? Do you like pizza? If so, participate in the Hunger Banquet on Friday, February 4th in the cafeteria. The cost is $1 and all proceeds benefit the Heifer Project. As you participate you will draw either a 1, 2, or 3 to determine what you will eat for lunch that day. At the Quad basketball games on February 4th, we will have a mad money dash to raise money to benefit this cause. Bring your change!
GIRLS TENNIS: There will be an organizational meeting on Wednesday, February 2nd for all girls interested in playing tennis for Senior this spring. The meeting will be held at 2:30 in the LRC and the new head Women’s Tennis Coach will be introduced at this meeting.
SPANISH CLUB: There will be a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday, February 2nd in E40 from 7:10 - 7:30. Wear your Spanish Club clothing for pictures. Representatives are especially invited to attend.
SUMMER JOBS: Leisure Services are looking for youth to work part-time this summer. Jobs like playground leaders, coaches, swim pool staff, and golf course are available. If interested, see the bulletin board outside of guidance or stop in guidance office for applications and more info.
SADIES: The Sadie Hawkins dance, themed "Night of the Dragon," is coming up on March 5th. We will be selling t-shirts in the StuCo zone until February 4th for $10. A t-shirt will be on display outside the StuCo Zone. Note: money must be paid in advance to order a t-shirt.
FYI: The 2nd Annual Pink-Out against breast cancer will be held at Nora gym during the quad against Hempstead on Friday, February 4th. Order forms are available in A117 or the activities office. All t-shirt sale profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Deb Oleson and Juli Geraghty.
PARKING LOT: Sophomores and Junior students: We have 10 parking spaces available in the Junior parking lot. To receive a Junior lot parking sticker you will need to provide a current car registration, proof of insurance, drivers license, license plate number and $40. Sophomores and Juniors, please stop by the business office if you are interested in parking in the Junior parking lot.
TALENT SHOW: Talent Show Auditions: Do you have a talent you would like to share with the school? Talent show auditions are being held on Monday, February 7th from 2:30-6:30 in the Band Room. Sign-up in the AP's office if you are interested in performing. If you can sing, dance, act, or have any other special talents, we'd love to see you perform. Staff members are also welcome!
MATHEMATICS COMPETITION: The American Mathematics Competition test will be held at our school on February 8th. This is a huge competition where students gain the opportunity to learn and achieve through competition with students in their school and from around the world. Top students can achieve recognition through special honors and awards, including the best in each school and the best in each state. Please talk to Mr. Kueper in A322 if you are interested. Also, we will be doing old practice tests of the AMC at math club on Thursday mornings at 7:10 a.m. Please come and prepare!
