College Visit:  Iowa State University
When: Tuesday, March 5th
Who: Admitted Senior & Juniors
Depart Senior:  6:30AM SHARP
Return to Senior:  4:30-5:00PM
What:  Campus Tour, residence Hall tour, Admissions Presentation
Cost: $10 for Lunch (Cash or Check only, checks made out to Senior High School) 
**if the fee to attend is a concern for you, please speak with your School Counselor.  

Sign-Up in the School Counseling Office, must have $10 fee at time of sign-up to reserve your seat.  We have 50 seat available.  Requirements:  3.0+ GPA, must be passing all classes.

Attention:  Students in the graduating class of 2024

This year's Senior High Awards Assembly will be on Monday, May 20th 2024 at 7:00om in the Senior High Lamb-Hedeman Auditorium.  We will have a variety of scholarships (Memorial, Community/School, and Specific College Sponsored) that are available for our Senior High graduating students in the class of 2024.


To be eligible for these scholarships, you will need to complete the application that has been emailed to your school email address on February 2nd, 2024.  



Please fill out the application form electronically by Monday, February 21st 2024 at 2:30pm to Mrs. Lawrence.

SNOWCOMING WEEK

Thursday, February 8-Camping or Glamping
  • Day Event: 
    • Hedgehog Hunt
    • Specker during 3rd Hour in the auditorium
      • Caprice Jones, the founder of the Dubuque Fountain of Youth foundation will be here to speak to students about the importance of engagement, attendance, and building relationships in school. 
  • Night Event: None
Friday, February 8-Spirit Day
  • Day Events:
    • Donuts before school in the cafeteria
    • Assembly during support time in NORA
      • We will use our normal schedule for this day.  Teachers will direct their students to Nora after third hour to sit with their grade, just as they do during the homecoming assembly.  
  • Night Event: None
Saturday, February 10
  • Night Event: Snowcoming Dance 7:00-9:00PM in the cafeteria.
    • Tickets will be on sale from Monday, February5th to Friday, February9th for $10.  Guest tickets will be on sale from Monday, February 5th to Wednesday February7th for $20, both in the Business Office.  

Summer CNA:  There is a summer section of CNA offered at Hempstead.  The course is free, but students are responsible for books/ materials ($120 value).  If you are interested, please see your school counselor right away.  Registration starts Wednesday, Jan 24th and availability is first come first serve.
