The Discovery Club will be
doing a fall leaf hike out at EB Lyons and the Mines of Spain on Sunday,
November 4th. Come to our
Thursday 7:15a.m. meetings in B229 to get more information . Or you can contact Ms. Pfohl in B229 or Ms.
Koch in A217 for permission slips and information.
Students planning on
participating in the Platteville Math Contest, please return your permission
slips to your math teacher or drop it off to Mrs. Ward in D160 as soon as
possible!
Here's another super fun math
contest: Students compete together in the Team Scramble competition as one
large team. This contest is great for students at any level of Math from
Algebra 1 to Calc 3! The contest will take place on Thursday, November 8th from
7:45-8:20 in D156. Let your math teacher know if you are interested in
participating. The more students involved, the better!
Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here on November 6th during A and D support time to get your height and weight for your cap and gown. You will meet in the Auditorium. It is critical that you be in attendance. Thank You!
Girls
Cross-Country: Congratulations to the Ram Girls'
Cross-Country team for winning their Class 4A District Meet and qualifying for
their third consecutive state meet! The
Class 4A #4 ranked Rams placed 3 runners in the top 10 and qualified four
individuals for the state meet in addition to capturing the team title. The Rams were led by runner-up Claire
Edmondson and third place finisher Lillian Schmidt. Izzy Gorton raced to an 8th place finish to
qualify for state, and Olivia Kruse's stellar 14th place finish also earned her
individual qualifier status. Ashley
Donovan (23rd), Lily Balayti (28th), and Lucia Nelson (37th) round out the
Ram's state meet team. With their
district win, the Rams enter the state meet ready to achieve big, big
things! Good luck and go get 'em,
ladies!
Isaiah Schaetzel qualified
for the Mens State Cross Country Meet by finishing 8th out of 69 runners at the District
Championships at Noleridge Park on Thursday.
Also competing for the Rams at districts were Connor Kilgore, Foster
Hull, Ben Cook, Evan Wile, Easton Stakis, and Drew Weber.
Isaiah will compete at the
State Meet in Fort Dodge this Saturday, so if you see Isaiah, wish him luck
Congratulations to the Senior
Music Department on a strong day at All-State Auditions. Kara Merfeld was
selected for the All-State Band. Cece Brown, Maddie Ethier, and Corinne
Scheidecker were selected for the All-State Orchestra. Olivia Young was
selected as a First Alternate for the Orchestra. They will go on to the
All-State Festival in Ames in November
Russian Language Club is starting soon. If you're interested in learning Russian language and culture, sign up for after-school lessons taught by Ram student, Aya. She is a foreign exchange student from Kyrgyzstan. Questions and sign-ups in E39.
REMINDER: Registration for the next session of Driver’s Ed is going on now. You may pick up registration forms in the business office. Registrations will not be taken after 24th.
Anyone that is interested in
going on the field trip to the Shedd Aquarium and Millennium Park in Chicago on
November 6th, the trip is now open. Please see Mr.Kohl in room A203 D to get
your permission slips and more information. permission slips need to be signed
and turned in to the business office right away because seats are first come
first serve.

Senior photos are due to the yearbook staff by Friday, November 30th. Attach
your photos as a jpeg file and email them to dubuquesenior@gmail.com. Make sure
your name is in the subject line and spelled, capitalized, etc. as you would
like it to appear. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Jackman in E45.

ACTIVITIES
Girls’ Basketball: Any girl interested in playing basketball
this year must stop and see Mr. Deutsch in room B-137. You will receive the
first months practice schedule and other important information so you can start
the season on time.
Hey guys! Do you sing? The Dubuque Senior Men’s Ensemble is looking for
any guys that want to sing (and maybe eat a donut). Be a part of something new
and exciting for musical men at Dubuque Senior! Beginning Thursday morning
October 25th in the choir room we’ll meet at 7 and sing a few tunes and enjoy a
donut. See Mr. Chesher for details. There will probably be donuts there
too.
STUDENTS – are you interested in going out for a WINTER SPORT? If so, get signed up today in the Activities Office. You will need to make sure you have all the required paperwork on file.
Men’s and Women’s Bowling, Men’s Swimming, and Women’s Basketball start on November 5th and Men’s Basketball and Wrestling start on November 12th. Don’t wait to get signed up! Go to the Activities Office to learn more!
