Mock Trial:  There will be a Mock Trial meeting after school on Tuesday, December 15 in B142. Please see Mr. Huff if you are unable to attend.

Battle of the Books:  Are you more of a reader than a fighter? Then you should consider Battle of the Books! This book-based competition will be similar to joining a competitive book club! It involves teams of up to 6 members reading selected books and then battling it out to show who knows them best!

Mrs. Bontemps and Mrs. Fischer will hold an informational meeting about Battle of the Books on Wednesday, at 7:15 am in the Library. Come hear what it's all about and share your ideas; if you are unable to attend, please stop and see Mrs. Bontemps in the library or Mrs. Fischer in B149.

Are you looking for something to do on Wednesday afternoons? Feel free to stop by Science Bowl practice in Mr. Gate's room (B241) from 2:30 to 3:30. At each practice you will be able to test your math and science skills ...just for fun! Come when you can - you'll always be able to show what you know and learn something new!

DON’T FORGET….. Driver’s Ed forms are now available in the business office. There are still spots available and registration is on a first come first serve basis!

Attention Students: The Key Club will be hosting a bake sale starting this coming Monday, December 14th. You’ll be able to find the Bake Sale in the cafeteria all lunch periods.

The suggested donation is $1.00. All donations will go to Covers for Comfort. Make sure to stop down before they run out of SWEETS!

Please help us recognize the students from the DSHS Band program who were selected for the North East Iowa Bandmasters Association Honor Band and the NEIBA Honor Jazz Band. Go Rams!!!

The Senior Social Studies Department will be hosting a trivia night on Monday, December 14th. We will begin at 6:30 PM and go until approximately 8:00 PM in the cafeteria. Teams can be anywhere from 1 to 8 students and prizes will be awarded. It is free to attend but there will be a free will donation if you feel so inclined. A preview of rounds will be a general knowledge round and a bands by color round. We will see you then!

Seniors - The ECHO Yearbook Staff needs your Senior Photos. The January 15th deadline is drawing dangerously close and we only have about 30 photos. This is your year to really stand out! Don't miss your chance! Make sure you photo has been emailed to either dubuquesenior@gmail.com or sjackman@dbqschools.org by January 15th, 2016. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Jackman in room E45 or any ECHO staff member.

RENAISSANCE ALERT! RENAISSANCE ALERT! ID stamping is happening now in the AP office for Renaissance before and after school. If you had As, Bs and Cs, no Ds or Fs on your progress report, please stop in the AP office to get your ID stamped. You will need the second quadrant stamped Red or Blue if you plan to exempt a semester final.

New Job Posting: Klosterman Accountants are looking for a student to be an administrative assistant beginning in January. Duties include filing, greeting customers, assembling tax returns, and answering phones. Hours are after school till 7 p.m. and Saturdays 8-noon.

Many businesses are looking for part-time workers - new ones just posted on bulletin board by guidance office are Tony Roma's, Grand River Center, and Dubuque Specialty Care. Dubuque Specialty Care is paying $9 an hour to start and jobs are evenings 4:15 - 7:15 and every other weekend. No late hours and great starting pay. Check these out in guidance!
