PICTURES: If you would like to place an order of your school picture, you will need to send the order form directly to the company. The Main Office does have order forms for you to pick up.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PARKING: 11th and 12th grade students, who want to park in the Senior or Junior lots, please purchase your parking sticker now. We will be holding a lottery to move several 11th grade students’ vehicles (with Junior lot parking stickers) to the Senior parking lot. The lottery will be held the last week of September. You must have purchased a Junior parking sticker prior to the lottery date to be in the lottery drawing. Starting October 3rd Junior parking lot stickers will be sold to 10th grade students. Only students with 2011 parking lot stickers will be allowed to park in the school parking lots. All other vehicles will be ticketed and towed. Mr. Merritt
JUNIORS: If you are interested in taking the PSAT test, you should sign-up in guidance. The cost for the test is $15.
SPANISH CLUB: Spanish Club Meeting & Elections: The Spanish Club will be meeting in E40 for Officer Elections & Fall Activities on Tuesday, Sept. 20th from 7:10-7:30am and 2:30-3:00pm. Students must have signed up for Spanish Club in order to vote. Please see the list of candidates and details about the club with your Spanish teacher.

BASEBALL GAME: The tenth annual Scott Althoff Memorial Alumni Baseball Game will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 17 at Petrakis Park. Scott was a member of the 1996 MVC Championship team and was killed in a hit and run accident in July of 2002. Proceeds from the game go to a $500 scholarship which is given to a deserving senior on the Senior High Baseball team. Tickets for the game can be purchased for $3 at the gate. We hope to see you at the ball park!
UPPER ROOM: The Upper Room will sponsor our annual Back to School Party this Saturday. The party will be held at the Barrington Lake Picnic Area from 4:00 - 9:00 pm. Bring pop or food to share. Everyone is welcome!
DIG PINK NIGHT: The volleyball team will have a “Dig Pink” night in support of Breast Cancer research on Tuesday, September 27 with their match against Hempstead. We will be selling t-shirts and taking orders beginning next week.
FYI: Any clubs interested in making designs of their club on windows for homecoming week (Oct 10-14) please contact Sean Duggan for more information. To sign up, make a draft and send it to student council as soon as possible! Designs must be in by Oct. 2nd so they can be approved. We will be painting on Saturday, Oct. 8th. If you plan on making a design, members of your club must be there to paint. Thank you, Student Council
FOOTBALL GAME: Reminders for Friday night’s Football Game with Cedar Rapids Kennedy;
This Friday evening, both the sophomore and varsity football games will be played at the University of Dubuque. The sophomore game will start at 5:00 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:15.
Students will be admitted to the game by showing their Activity Pass. Students that do not have an Activity Pass will be required to buy a $5.00 ticket.
ID Cards – Students are required to have their ID Card in their possession at the game. Failure to provide the card if asked will result in dismissal from the stadium.
Senior is the home team. Treat cheerleaders, band, and other spectators with proper respect. Please remain on the home side throughout the game. Also, throwing of objects in the stands is not allowed. Fans violating this policy may be removed from game.
Please, remove your hat and stand quietly at attention during the National Anthem. These few moments of respect are appropriate and expected behavior.
When the game ends, do not run onto the field. Please allow the teams to shake hands and the losing team to leave the field. After this has taken place, you can celebrate with our team.
ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: Senior Year and Beyond Night is Monday, September 19th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Please come with your parents to get your questions answered about this last year of high school and preparing for next year. A panel of local experts will be there including representative from Iowa Works for employment, local college admissions reps, a University of Iowa/Iowa State/UNI rep, a college coach and your school counselors. Hope to see you there!
