SENIORS: You are invited to attend the Graduate Panel TODAY during 6th and/or 7th hour in A209 (Mr. Dean's Room). The Graduate Panel is a group of recent graduates that come back to talk to you about life after high school. We currently have 6 graduates coming back representing the following colleges: NICC, Loras, Clarke and ISU. Each have had various experiences in high school and in college/life after high school. Come chat with them - they are ready for open conversations and to answer any of your questions. You can come for just one hour or both but you have to have your teacher's permission if you have a class.

FYI: Senior Freshman Lady Rams played a well balanced game on Thursday night and beat River Ridge 35-20. The rams were lead by Ashley Schmidt 11pts, Hannah Timmerman 8pts, and Erica Tebon 6pts. The Lady Rams next home game is Jan 3rd 2011.

FYI: The Senior Lady Ram Freshman girl Basketball team jump out to a early lead and never looked back as them beat Hempstead 53-22. The Ladies Rams had balance scoring across the board. Team was led by Hannah Timmerman 12pts, Ashley Schmit 9pts, Erica Tebon 8pts, Sha Kurra Evans 6pst, Amber Leytem 6ts, and Jaclyn Kremer 6pts. Lady Rams are now 3-2.

FYI: We have had several more students be accepted into some very prestigious groups that I would like to recognize.
First, we have had nine students selected for the Northern Festival of Bands - an honor band program sponsored and hosted by the University of Northern Iowa. The students include: Austin Baugh, Lily Brondyke, Jonathan Fuller, Colin Niemer, Logan Neises, Adam ODell, Emily Smith, Morgan Swearinger and Mikayla Wickham. They will be working with nationally renown directors for three days - February 10 - 12 and putting on the final festival concert at the Gallager - Bluedorn Performing Arts center in Cedar Falls Saturday afternoon.
Second, we have had three students accepted into the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association Honor Jazz Band. Students include: Jon Fuller, Colin Niemer, and Adam ODell. They will be working with the head of the fabulous Jazz studio at UNI - Chris Merz and putting on a festival concert at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids on January 8th.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to the Senior Colorguard on an outstanding weekend at State Competition! The group enjoyed the trip sharing transportation, hotel and a performance of Mary Poppins with the guard from Hempstead. Friday morning's performance of "Topsy Turvy" from the Hunchback of Notre Dame earned the team 1st Place in Class III Colorguard making them state champs for the 8th year in a row. The evening performance "Under the Silver Moon" features the music Bridge Over Troubled Water by Andrea Boccelli and Mary J Blige and earned the group 3rd Place in Large School Show Production. It was a great weekend and the girls did a fantastic job representing the Ram Family. Come see State Solo winner Eden Frey at this Friday's basketball game and the team's award winning performance at next Friday's game! Go Rams!

FYI: Freshman Lady Rams Basketball team beat Wahlert High School on Saturday. The score was 37-31.The Lady Rams took the lead in the second half and never looked back. The Rams got a great spark off the bench from
Maddie McElmeel and Kendra Conforti. The Rams had balance scoring from Jackie Kremer 7pt, Missy Meyer 6 points,
Shakurra Evans 6 points and Ashley Schmit 5points. The Rams are now 1-2 and play Monday Dec 6th at River Ridge.

RAM WRESTLING: Fresh off their triumphant win against cross-town rival Hempstead on Thursday night, the Rams returned to Moody Gym as they competed in the annual Dubuque invitational. Collectively, the Rams had a solid day of
competition and were led by the individual performances of brothers Chase and Bryce Lynn and Jack Freese who all finished as runner-up of their respective weight class. Zach Barry wrestled well and finished in 3rd place. Sklyer Kelley and Trevor Engling finished 4th and Jordan Peterson was 5th. Nice work Ram Wrestlers.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to the Ram Junior Varsity Wrestlers for kicking off their season in dominating fashion at the North Linn JV Tournament. The Rams crowned a tournament high 9 individual champions and added 9 additional 2nd place finishers. Individual Champions included: Kemmy Betwell, Matt Hesselman, Enoc Alvarenga, Zach Donovan, Skyler Kelley, Tanner Ervolino, Mitch Powers, Jesse Blus and Paul Warnke
Runners-Up were: Russell Henkel, Marty Buss, Alex Boettner, Andy Reiter, Travis Galle, Christian Anderson, Dan Rogan, Chris Poynter and Zach Meyer. Great Job Ram Wrestlers!!!

CONGRATULATIONS: Six students from the Dubuque Senior High School band program have been selected to participate in the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters’ Association Honor Band Festival on Saturday, December 4, 2010. These students will perform in one of two 128 piece, select ensembles make up of instrumentalists from sixty schools in Northeast Iowa. The following instrumentalists from the Dubuque Senior High School Band were selected for this honor: Adam O’Dell, Jessica Larsen, Courtney Chaffee, Mikayla Wickham, Kevein Strickland, and Lily Brondyke.

FYI: Ty Wittman Placed 5th with a time of 16:05 at the Sr. All Star 5K Meet in Ankeny, Iowa at Des Moines Area Community College. Eli Horton of Southeast Polk was 1st with 15:50. Andrew Brimeyer 14th, 16:36, Wes Westervelt 32nd 17:10, and Tyler Runde 45th 17:33. The Senior men helped the Northeast region place 3rd with 59 points.
Randi Westervelt Placed 8th in the women's 5K with a time of 19:56 and Sam Francois 55th at 22:47.
Tim Wittman was 4th in the 5K open with a time of 17:34.
Great job Senior Men's and Women's cross-country runners for a strong showing at the Senior All Star Meet. 173 of the top Men and women from Iowa competed in this years event.

FYI: Ty Wittman placed 14th with a time of 15:53 at the 2010 State meet in Fort Dodge, IA Saturday. Next Saturday Nov. 6 Ty Wittman, Andrew Brimeyer, Tyler Runde, and Wes Westervelt will be running at the Senior All Star meet in Ankeny, IA. These runners were nominated and selected as 40 of the top seniors in the North East region. Only 40 runners of 75 schools were selected.

COVERS OF COMFORT: Want to win a new I-Pod or movie tickets? Underclassmen, do you want the
chance to win a Senior lot sticker? Student council is raffling off all these great prizes. Buy raffle tickets in the Stuco Zone, located in the cafeteria, during your lunch time. Tickets will be sold Oct. 25-Nov. 5, 1 ticket for $1 and 6 tickets for $5. All profits will be going to the charity Covers of Comfort, a charity that sponsors fleece blankets donated to adult cancer patients.
