If interested in painting a window for homecoming week or creating a float for the homecoming parade please email akins@dbqschools.org. Window Painting will take place on Saturday September 10th and the homecoming parade will take place on September 16th. You must register for to participate in advance, so don't wait.

Students and Staff:

On HOME FOOTBALL game nights, there will be RESERVED PARKING in the west parking lot (the small teachers lot).

The first two rows, as you enter the parking lot, are RESERVED starting at 4 pm on game nights.

Please DO NOT PARK IN THESE SPOTS.

The rest of the spots in the lot

are open to the public.

Senior High LETTERMAN JACKETS will SOON BE AVAILABLE!  If you’ve always wanted a letterman’s jacket to show your school pride, now’s your chance to get one!  A representative will be outside the cafeteria to help students with sizing and ordering information on Wednesday, September 7^th from 11:0 am – 12:30 pm.  Stop by to see what your DBQ Senior Letterman’s jacket will look like.  All orders will be done online, at any time.  Any questions, please stop in the Activities Office.

Respect Retreat Student Leaders--Please check the list outside of the AP office for the day you are assigned to assist with the retreat.  You will also need to record what you will do for lunch that day. 

If you are no longer interested in helping with the retreat, please see Mrs. Brokus or send her an email. 

Book Club is ready to go! Join us in reading Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith on September 21st at 2:30. Stop by the library to pick up your copy of the book to keep!

Hear ye! Hear Ye!!!

Ninety students have signed up to attend American Players Theatre's production of King Lear on Wednesday, September 14.  In order to secure your seat. please bring a signed permission slip, health information, and payment to the business office (across from 219) on or before Friday, September 2.

The debate team will be hosting informational meetings on Friday, September 2 at 8:20am and Tuesday, September 6 at 2:30pm. Both meetings will be held in A124. You do not need to attend both. Come by and learn about the big plans we have for the Senior debate team this year!

Unscripted, Dubuque Senior's Improv Comedy Troupe will hold open workshops Tuesday Sept 6th, Thursday Sept 8th, and Tuesday Sept 13th from 2:30-4:00 in Rm A209 with Auditions to be held after school on Thursday Sept 15th.  It is important to attend as many of the workshops as possible to learn the games we will be using for auditions.  Any questions see Mr. Ernzen in B237.  Come be a part of the fun!

Looking for a part-time job??    Chick-fil-a opens Sept 16. and is looking for high school students to fill various positions.  Must be 16.   Morracco Supper Club is looking for workers to buss tables and do kitchen work - ages 15 and over.   Little Treasures DayCare is looking for people who like working with kids - must be 16.   All job contacts are listed on the bulletin board outside the Counseling Office or stop in the counseling office for details.
