Student/Athletes

If you participated in a Fall Sport and you were assigned an athletic locker – you NEED to have your lockers cleaned out NO LATER than Thursday, November 5th (with the exception of Football Players who are using a Caged Locker – you do NOT need to clean your lockers out). Boys – make sure you return the padlocks that were given to you to the Activities Office.

EVEN if you are participating in a Winter Sport – you NEED to clean your lockers out and return your padlocks!

Anything left in lockers after Friday, November 6th will be removed.
Thank you for your cooperation and help as we get ready for our Winter Sports season!

RENAISSANCE ALERT! RENAISSANCE ALERT! Student's hoping to exempt one semester final need get their IDs stamped in the 2nd quadrant beginning at conferences. Remember to bring your ID to conference and stop by the Renaissance table with the blue table cloth.

I will have an organizational meeting for Wrestling on Tuesday November 3rd, after school @2:30 in the Wrestling Room. Anyone that may have a problem attending needs to talk to Coach Connolly or Coach Kohl.

We will have an Intramural Wrestling Meet on November 10th in the Wrestling Room, after school, check weight and wrestle @2:30.

Men’s Swimming Informational Meeting:

There will be an informational meeting for the men’s swim team on Tuesday, November 3rd after school in the Cafeteria. All returning swimmers and anyone interested in joining the team this year should plan to attend. If you are unable to make the meeting, see Coach Huff in room B142 before or after school for information.

Senior men's country team qualifies for state at Crow Creek in Bettendorf IA

The top 15 individuals and top 3 teams qualify for state.

The Rams qualified 4 individual and also the entire team. Individual qualifiers were Mark Whalen 4th place 16:23, Jalen Hildebrand 7th place 16:44, Preston Kizer 8th place 16:47, Will Whalen 15th place 17:00.


The Senior team also qualified placing 2nd with 58 points. Listed below are the team qualifiers.

Signing up is not needed, however there will be a sign-up in the School Counseling Office that we highly encouraged! Please communicate your absence with your teachers if necessary.

If you are registered for Mr. Kohl’s 2nd semester Marine Biology class, you are eligible to go on the field trip to the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium in Chicago on November 16th. Tuesday and Wednesday 8 students from Model UN attended the Iowa Youth Symposium. These students were selected as outstanding delegates for our region and were able to create position papers and resolutions on current global topics facing the United Nations. The symposium offers 2 outstanding delegates for each topic comprising of approximately 20-30 students. From the RamFam, Josie Mills and Allie Pinchuk were named outstanding delegates giving Senior 2 of the 8 available outstanding delegations. Congratulate them on their hard work!!

Social Event! Come to Shuster’s Pumpkin Patch this Saturday October 24 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. All Senior students that bring their Senior ID will get a discount on the maze and hay ride! Come hangout with friends, enjoy the fall weather, and shoot pumpkins out of the pumpkin canon! Don’t forget to bring your Senior ID.

Illinois Wesleyan University, our College of the Week, is an exclusively undergraduate university. Our students have close working relationships with faculty who inspire, challenge, and encourage them to realize their passions and achieve their goals in school and in life. Join the Senior Ram Volleyball team in honoring our seniors TONIGHT at Senior Night against Waterloo East. This event will be a Ram Fam card stamp event and you can get your card stamped at the concessions stand after the second set!

Friday night’s football game at Dalzell is a Ram Fam card stamp event! Visit the concession stands during halftime to get your card stamped! If you have not received your Ram Fam card from your 5th hour teacher visit the activities office to pick one up. Don’t forget to wear your pink tonight!

The 13th Annual Dubuque Senior TriState 3-on-3 Hoopfest will be Saturday, October 31st in Nora gym. See coach Eimers for an entry form. Rules meeting will at 1:15 and high school games will begin play at 1:30. Winning teams will receive trophies and all participants will receive official 3-on-3 Hoopfest t-shirts.

If you are planning on going out for a winter sport (Men’s or Women’s Bowling, Men’s Swimming, Men’s or Women’s Basketball, or Wrestling) you need to stop in the Activities Office to sign up and make sure your sports physical and all paperwork is up to date.

Even if you are currently participating in a fall sport, you need to sign up for the winter sports. Please do NOT wait until the first day of practice to sign up! First official day of practice for Bowling and Swimming, and Women’s Basketball is November 9th and for Wrestling and Men’s Basketball it is November 16th.

If you have any questions, stop in the Activities Office.

From 7:00am to 11:30am each day, the Write Place will be open for seniors to come complete applications, search for scholarships, work on and complete essays, research options and get all your questions answered about your for post-secondary plans! The School Counselors and local college experts will be there to help you along the way. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Signing up is not needed, however there will be a sign-up in the School Counseling Office that we highly encouraged! Please communicate your absence with your teachers if necessary.

If you are registered for Mr. Kohl’s 2nd semester Marine Biology class, you are eligible to go on the field trip to the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium in Chicago on November 16th. If interested please see Mr. Kohl during your 5th hour study hall for more details and a permission slip in B233. Permission slips will be due by November 1st.

After a 17 year teaching career here at Senior, Ann Duchow was and remains a proud member of the Ram Family. To her, we are all connected here at Senior, and even though we may be different, we’re all part of the same Ram Fam.

The movie this year is “UP”, please bring your Senior ID for admittance…(we are still looking for some chaperones)

Thursday:
The Homecoming Assembly at 11:00, with the parade following (1:30).
The usual parade route will be used…

Friday:
The Sophomore game begins at 5:00 with the Varsity game following.

Saturday:
The Homecoming Dance
8-11pm here in Nora Gym

Tickets are $10.00, and will be on sale Friday, October 2nd through Thursday, October 8th.

Attention Students! Open Mic Night is TONGIHT at 6 p.m.! Plan on attending the last Open Mic Night ever to be held in Senior’s courtyard. Students please enter through the Cafeteria doors and proceed down the hall towards the band room. Then take a right up the stairs to the Courtyard. Student Council will be providing FREE beverages from Rubix Café as well as a sweet desert. Come out and support your RAMS as they perform at this year’s Open Mic Night. Also, don’t forget to bring a blanket!

If you are registered for Mr. Kohl’s 2nd semester Marine Biology class, you are eligible to go on the field trip to the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium in Chicago on November 16th. If interested please see Mr. Kohl during your 5th hour study hall for more details and a permission slip in B233. Permission slips will be due by November 1st.

RAM FAM – Get your RAM APPAREL during Homecoming Week!

Ram Apparel will be available for you to purchase during lunch in the cafeteria on Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th. If you haven’t been able to attend a home football game and need to get your RAM apparel for the Homecoming Football Game on Friday night or for the RAM SPIRIT day on Thursday – now’s your chance!!

We will have sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, hats, stadium seats – you name it! Stop down to the cafeteria and see all of the NEW RAM apparel we got in. And as usual, we will be selling at the football game Friday night!! And on a side note – we WILL be able to accept credit cards!

Driver's Education Forms are now available in the Business Office for the next class which will start October 26th and will run through December 17th. Forms are available in the morning before school or after school and CANNOT be turned in until October 12th. Please stop by the Business Office for any questions!

Students will NOT be allowed to bring backpacks into games at Nora Gym or Dalzell Field. Please leave those things in your vehicle or lockers. Bags will be taken and kept in the ticket office until the end of the contests. The best plan is to not bring them at all.

It is Burrito Friday! The following Renaissance students have each won a Burrito from Pancheros. Congratulations to Kayla Hanten(12), Kathleen Smith(11) and Michael Welborn(10) please stop by the AP office to pick up your gift certificate to Pancheros!

Open Mic Night is coming up on Monday, October 5th at 6 p.m.! Let me say that again, Attention Students! Open Mic Night is coming up on Monday, October 5th at 6 p.m.! Plan on attending the last Open Mic Night ever to be held in Senior’s courtyard. Students please enter through the Cafeteria doors and proceed down the hall towards the band room.
