CONGRATULATIONS: On Wednesday, IJAG students competed in the 11th Annual Career Development Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. Senior High School took second place in the “Outstanding Team” category out of 19 Schools from across Iowa. Students competed against 300 other students and brought home a total of 10--- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals.

GSA – Day of Silence –Friday, April 16th, you may hear fewer voices in the halls. Some students will be participating in the “The Day of Silence.” This is a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies. Their deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by bullying, name-calling and harassment. They believe that ending the silence is the first step towards building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices. Think about the voices you will not be hearing Friday. If you are interested in participating, there will be a short meeting in room A224 right after school on Thursday.

CHOIR MEMBERS – All Choir Members need to be at the combined choir rehearsal on Tuesday, April 20th from 2:30-3:30 in the Choir Room. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend this important rehearsal!

RENAISSANCE: Attention Students!!! It’s that time of year again…time to get your IDs stamped for Renaissance!!! Students will need to bring their progress report and their ID to the Assistant Principal’s office to get their ID stamped for the quarter and to receive their Renaissance incentives. We will stamp IDs for the rest of this week through next week until Friday April 16th. Qualifying students should be sure to stop in and take advantage of the Renaissance incentives. See you soon!

INTRAMURAL DODGEBALL: The Intramural Dodgeball Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14th right after school in the Nora Gym. Please sign your teams of 6 up with Ms. Borgwardt as soon as possible. Any staff help would be greatly appreciated.

SUMMER WORK: The Family Dollar Distribution Center is looking for summer help staring at $12.90 per hour. You must be 18 yrs. old by summer. This is a good way to earn $ for college! Stop in Guidance for more information.

SCHOLARSHIP: Scott Althoff was a 1997 Senior High graduate and a member of the Ram Baseball Squad. He died in a hit and run accident in 2002. A $500 scholarship has been established in his name. Applications for the scholarship can be picked-up from Mr. Fleming in room A-211 and needs to be returned to Mr. Fleming by Tuesday, April 13th.

SCHOLARSHIP: There is a scholarship available through the Activity Office. It is a $750.00 Booster Club Scholarship. More information and application forms are in the Activities Office. The deadline is Friday, April 23rd.

SENIOR CLASS – The Senior Panoramic Photo will be taken on Wednesday, April 21st at 10:00 am in the Nora Gym. A Senior Class Meeting will be held immediately following the photo.
