CONGRATULATIONS: Pooja Patel, sophomore, for being selected as a 2012-2013 winner of the National Center of Women & Information Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing Iowa Affiliate.

Pooja is being recognized for her computing-related aspirations and for her demonstrated,
outstanding aptitude and interest in information technology/computing; solid leadership ability; good academic history; and plans for post-secondary education. Pooja will be honored at an awards ceremony on Iowa State's campus in April.
Congratulations Pooja! You make the Ram Fam proud!

ATTENTION SENIORS: Looking for scholarship monies….please come to the School Counseling Office to pick up your “Senior Application” for this year’s Awards Assembly.
The return deadline for the Senior Applications is Tuesday February 19th, 2013. If you have questions, please see Ms. Lawrence.

WENDY’S COMMUNITY DAYS: Every 3rd Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Wendy’s will donate 10% of all sales to SENIOR HS Gay/Straight Alliance. This will continue through May. This only takes place at the Wendy’s on 16th and Kerper. Stop in or drive thru for a burger and frosty. You will be helping to support Senior HS GSA. Thank you!

SCIENCE BOWL COMPETITION: Competition and practice for Dubuque Senior's 2014 Science Bowl Team will begin on Tuesday, February 5th at 2:30 p.m. in room B241. We will go until 3:30. At least three new team members are needed and we will be using a new set of Academic Quiz questions to identify our best science knowledge masters. Come test your Science Quotient - all areas of science, from biology to meteorology, geology and astronomy are needed.

THE STUDENT BUILT HOUSE PROJECT IS BACK!!
Attention: Any former or current Construction student.

After being gone for several years, the Student Built House Project is going to be back for next school year. If you are a student who has taken any Construction classes, or has a strong Construction background, and would be interested in taking the Student House Project, please see Mr. Kress or your guidance counselor for details. This is a yearlong course that has Senior High credits as well as NICC college credits. Register for this class along with your other classes. Spots are limited.

UPPER ROOM MEETING: We welcome students to join us every Friday at 7 am in the gym lobby. Get there early for a game and treats!

SADIE HAWKINS DANCE DATE CHANGE: Attention to all students planning to attend the 2013 Sadie Hawkins Dance! Due to a scheduling conflict, it will now take place on March 2nd in the Nora Gym from 8 PM – 11PM. The theme will be “Cupid Shuffle.” Thank you for your flexibility!!

SADIE HAWKINS GUEST FORMS: Sadie Hawkins Dance is March 2nd. If you think you would like to bring a guest who does not attend Senior High School, please stop in the AP office to pick up a guest form. The forms need to be returned to the AP office by Friday, February 22nd.

TALENT SHOW: If you enjoy the thrill of performing, come and audition for the 2013 Dubuque Senior Talent Show. We need talented singers, dancers and performers of all kinds. The talent show gives you a chance to stand in the spotlight and earn great prizes. If you are interested in auditioning for the talent show, sign up for a 10-minute time slot today in the AP’s office. Auditions will be held on Monday, February 4th from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, February 5th from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. The 2013 Talent Show will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE MEETING: The Gay Straight Alliance will be meeting EVERY THURSDAY after school in room A117. Everyone is welcome….bring a friend! We are currently selling bracelets for $2. Proceeds will be used for group activities for our members. Stop by A117 and get your bracelet today!
