STUDENT NEWS

 If you are signed up for the Battle of the Books, please come to a meeting in the library on Thursday at 7:10 am.

The next Gay Straight Alliance meeting will be held in E45 on January 25 at 7:05 in E45. Please come to help us plan our Open House table and to hang out with friends

Congratulations to the Color Guard Team. The color guard competed on Saturday at the MA Regional Championships. The team brought home 3 superior ratings. Congratulation Baylee Crews. Baylee Competed her color Guard Solo and got 1st place winning the the Regional Championship.

Congratulations to the Dubuque Senior Speech Team on an excellent showing at the District Large Group Speech contest at Cascade on Saturday.  The team qualified 30 out of 31 performances for the State Contest to be held in two weeks in Decorah.  Way to go Rams!

RAM WRESTLING: Congratulations goes out to all Rams wrestling teams this weekend. At the Bob Lueders 26 team tournament the Rams placed 7th with great performances by Matt Connolly, Alex Richard, Isaac Cretzinger, Nathan Siegworth, Mikey Koch and Micheal Welborn.

At the Jim Boyd tournament the team placed fifth. third place by Gavin Schumacher Dashawn Tigges and Declan Sisler, Thomas Welborn and Ben Schmelzer.

At the Riverdale tournament champions were Ethan Scott, Jon Flanagan and Sean Juelson congratulations Rams. We wrestle in Iowa City on Thursday good luck.

SENIOR RAMS BOWLERS:  On Friday the Senior Ram bowlers traveled to Cedar Rapids Jefferson to meet the J-Hawks.  Josh Oertel lead the Men’s Varsity team with a 482 in the win giving them a 7-1 record.  Alexis Scheffert lead the Women’s Varsity with a 344 as they came up just sort giving the ladies a 6-2 record.  Grant Paar lead the Undefeated Men’s JV team with a 411 in the win and Holli Farnam lead the Undefeated Women’s JV team with a 325.  Plus, Peter Sullivan lead the other JV team with a 320 in their victory.  The Ram bowlers are preparing for the City Title Meet this coming up Friday against cross-town rivals Hempstead.  Way To Go Rams 

RAM Recyclers needs your help.  We need students to collect and sort recycling here at Senior.  If you are at Senior at 7:00, you are just the right students for this job.  This opportunity is available 7:00-7:25 Monday through Thursday.  Come and earn service hours for the Silver Cord Program and help the environment.  See Mrs. King in A118 if interested.

ACTIVITIES

Are you interested in being a RAM CHEERLEADER?  If so, please stop by the Activities Office for some important information regarding tryouts.  There will be a Mandatory Meeting for all students interested in trying out on Thursday, March 15th.  

Men’s Track and Field:  There will be a goal-setting meeting on January 29th at 6:30 p.m. in the Small Gym.

Attention all athletes!  Sign up for Spring Sports is going on NOW!  If you are interested in any of the following sports, make sure you stop by the Activities Office to get signed up:  Men’s/Women’s Track, Women’s Golf, Men’s/Women’s Tennis, Men’s Soccer, and Women’s Soccer.

Men’s/Women’s Track begins on February 12th, so make sure you get signed up soon!
