The Dubuque Area Arts Collective is starting a music mentoring program for high school students with some musical background and an interest in discovering different types of music. We would like to start rehearsals the first week of February. Students will be divided into groups based on musical ability, times available, and interest in a particular music genre. Mentors will be assigned the first week. Instruments will be available if you don’t have your own.
Rehearsals will be held once a week for 2 hours for 12 weeks. At the end of the 12 weeks, mentors will assist students in marketing their shows, which will be held in May.
The music mentors are volunteers from the Dubuque community with many years of experience playing in bands, running and booking music venues, and come from diverse backgrounds. This is an exciting new program and we hope you will join! If interested, please visit Mr Jenkins or Mrs Eagle for an important form. Thank you!
