On Thursday May 7th IJAG students attended the Career Development Conference in Des Moines. They brought home the gold medal for their banner and Alex Stoddard brought home the silver medal for Math101. Congratulations to the following students for bringing home the gold medal , Deshawn Drummond, Kejuan Montley, Katrice Richards, Brianna Cleveland, Teresa Thoma, Sami Selesky, Hunter Duster, Callie Waterman, Kevin Wortley, and Alex Stoddard. Also, Thank You Mr. Connolly’s class and Mr. Jenson for putting the nail in the coffin.

Sophomores and Juniors...your leadership skills are needed at the Freshman Respect Retreat next school year. If you are interested in being a student leader for the Freshman Respect Retreat next fall, please see Ms. Saunders or Mrs. Brokus to sign up.

Attention Seniors:

The Senior High School Alumni Association would like to get your email address so you can receive the Alumni Newsletter! Please stop by the Main Office to add your name and email to the list.

A meeting for next year's AP Composition students will be held in the library on Thursday, May 21st at 2:30. Students will receive their summer reading books and information. A second meeting will be held in A-226 on Friday, May 22nd at 8:15 if you are unable to make the first meeting.

“Any student planning on taking AP Psychology next year needs to attend one of the meetings for summer reading:

Thursday, May 21st at 7:10 OR Friday, May 22nd at 8:10, in Mrs. Wessels’ room, B138.”

If you are signed up to take AP US History in the 2015-16 school year, please plan on attending one of the following meetings to pick up summer reading materials.

Meeting options are:  Tuesday, May 19 at 7:10 or 2:30  Or Wednesday, May 20 at 2:30​

All meeting options will be held in B139. If you unable to attend one of the sessions, please stop by B139 and see Mrs. Weiland for materials.

Seniors- Your account needs to be clear prior to graduation. This includes having all of your library books and textbooks turned in by Monday 5/18. If you are not sure what you still have out, stop by the library, book room, or check destiny.dbqschools.org

All juniors signed up to take AP Literature next year need to attend an informational meeting in Library, on Tuesday May 19th at 2:30. Summer reading material will be distributed at this meeting, so it is crucial that you attend.

A.P. World History: Students who have registered to take A.P World History during the 2015-16 school year should attend an informational meeting in B140 at 7:10 on one of the following dates.

May 19th at 7:10 Akins - Everett

May 20th at 7:10 Fishel – Lucy

May 21st at 7:10 Markus – Zuccaro

At this time, students will receive their summer reading assignments.

New job openings include: UPS and Betty Jane Candies in Warren Plaza - Hy-Vee on Locust, Theisen’s, Burger King on JFK and Hartig’s in Asbury Square. Stop in the businesses for more info.

Students have you lost keys, a phone or special jewelry at some point is year? Please stop by the AP Office to identify your items during your FREE PERIOD OR STUDY TIME. These items are kept separate from the usual lost and found items. THANK YOU!

Renaissance Students, Test Exemption Sign UP has begun! The final day to sign up is May 17th 2015. To exempt students must have a Red or Blue Renaissance stamp, an A in the class they which to exempt and no more than four absences in that class. See your teacher to sign up by May 17th.
